Gabriel High Performance Planar Radomes
Flexible Planar Radomes
Planar radomes are supplied as standard equipment with all shrouded parabolic antennas. This radome shields the antenna’s aperture from foreign matter, thereby protecting the parabolic surface, feed and R.F. absorber.
The planar radome is ideally flexible, relatively thin, and rugged enough to remain serviceable through many years of operation.
Gabriel offers two types of planar radomes to meet these requirements.
“Hypalon® coated nylon is furnished as standard equipment with many Gabriel high performance antennas.”
PTFE fluorocarbon polymer coated flexible fabric with a longer life radome offering negligible insertion loss and has excellent resistance to heat, corrosive atmosphere, fungus and ultra violet light. The fluorocarbon polymer coated surface has superior shedding characteristics for water, dirt, ice and snow. This product is standard on some models. (See below.)
